How to present my career through a knowledge product?

I’m an adman since my bachelor’s degree is in the field of Social Communication, Advertising. I still love advertising, especially the art direction and copywriting. But over time, I realized that product development should be the soul of any business, and not advertising. After all, success is about making products that people really need.

When I started thinking about my portfolio, I wanted it to be a product, more than an advertisement. It means something that could satisfy certain needs instead of only announcing my skills. The idea was to make a source of knowledge, telling users how I handled challenges over time and inspiring them.

Value proposition

So, what is the reason why someone would be willing to check a few cases of my portfolio, besides the obvious acknowledgment of my skills? The answer I chose was to increase his or her own base of references for future problem solutions. That’s why I named the cases according to the problem I had. I guess it helps to connect with users’ own realities.

Design

I started the project with a bunch of illustrations. Then, I realized it would only compete for attention. The idea was to make everything as simple as possible, giving space to what really matters: my work.

Going further, the concept of “letting my work talk” was supported by the style of neumorphism. As one of the most recent trends in digital design, it would aggregate modernity to the job, while keeping everything simple.

Development

I assumed the full-stack development of this work, and no third-party library or framework was used. In this case, the biggest challenge was probably the front-end development, considering the arrangement of the cards in all possible screens, as well as the specificities of mobile devices.
