How to separate the good products from the bad ones inside the team?

Inside our organization, I work for a unit whose functions are taken for granted: strategic management. Essentially, it does research, planning, and project orientation (yeah, I work on the fun part there, product development). Someday, I came up with an idea: what if we evaluate all our products and services, just to make sure it is really useful for the clients, besides all the tradition around the stuff we do?

The manager accepted that, and I held a workshop on Value Proposition Design.

As we work on smaller groups, each of them could evaluate its own products, according to the expectations of their clients. It was an opportunity to, systematically, recognize the usefulness of the things we do.
